ICI’s Chief Industry Operations Officer Marty Burns opened the 2016 Operations and Technology Conference by welcoming attendees and providing a preview of the conference’s program.

At the Operations and Technology Conference leadership session, (from left) Tammy Virnig of The Vanguard Group, Michael Woodall of Putnam Investments, Lisa Shea of Northern Trust, and Cary Fuchs of Principal Funds shared their thoughts about key challenges facing the fund industry, including cybersecurity, regulatory initiatives, business continuity, and intermediary and vendor oversight.

At a panel on the final morning of the conference, (from left) John Moninger of Eaton Vance Distributors, Steve Samuels of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Lisa Klassen of Edward Jones Investments, and Jim Waters of Goldman Sachs Asset Management shared insights on how financial advisers are responding to the evolving needs of investors.
Attendees exchanged ideas in the conference Exhibit Hall, which included more than 60 industry service providers, Legal Forum sessions, and a variety of refreshments and entertainment.
